Giana at 5 Months!

Giana at 5 Months!

What can we say... it's been a busy month and with a lot more interesting things to share. This month Giana got her ears pierced. Not a pretty sight to see when getting it done, but what a pretty sight to see after all is said and done. Giana started eating baby food and Melissa celebrated her first Mother's Day! Congrats Mama!

Last month Giana found her feet and started playing with her toes. Before long... she had her feet in her mouth, sucking on toe jam (yuck!). Then last week she was rolling from one side to another - not quite making it all the way over, but today... she's completely rolling over and never seems to want to stop. So yes, she's noticing her body and her capcity to roll herself all over the place. Nowdays Mommy and Daddy have to keep a watchful eye on our little one, because before the end of the month she'll be sitting up serving up her own jar of babyfood.

So what have we learned in the fifth month........

This year presented Melissa's first Mother's Day... and what a day it was. It was a day we honored our mothers with respect, love, and loyalty as mothers are producers of life. In the past, Mother's Day was a day I took nonchalantly and never noticed the true significance in it. Not that I ignored it or did not appreciate it, only I never saw Mother's Day as important as I do now. With Giana in our life, I have seen Melissa care for our daughter with the utmost love, affection, and motherly care any person could hope for. Melissa has a nurturing spirit that has taken well to our daughter and our daughter to Melissa. She is truly a wonderful Mom and I am so happy that our daughter will have a beautiful role model in her mother. As I watch all this from the sideline, I get filled with joy to find a new appreciation for all Mothers who provide the needed love and care for their children. Today Mother's Day has a new meaning to me and I am honored to have been able to celebrate this first and important day with my wife and baby girl.
They are my world!

To all my family and friends who are mothers... Happy "belated" Mother's Day and Bless You Always! To all sons and daughters in loving standing with your mom, stay close and love and appreciate your mother everyday - you only have one. To all husbands and fathers, respect your wife or significant other as she may be your children's foundation. To all soon to be moms... you're in for the ride of your life. And to all soon to be dads... stand by your woman, respect your woman, and help your woman be the best mother she can for your new family.

til next month!
