Giana at 2 months!

WhazzzzzzzzUpppp!!!

So here we are... Giana is in her second month and growing beautifully. She's been putting on weight, getting tall, and defining her features seemingly every day. During this month Giana developed quite the personality. She can be very happy and talkative (like her mom) but then be laidback and reserved (like her dad). Whatever her mood, she always makes us smile with her funny little ways. We're loving it!

On another note, Giana received her first set of immunization shots. Like many parents, Melissa and I did not want to have to face this day, but to protect our little one from the germs that be, Giana had to undergo this excruciating ordeal regardless (Very excruciating for Mom and Dad too!). Sure she screamed her head off... but in the end, Giana made out like a champ - behaving as if nothing had happened. We're very proud of her!

====================================================================

So what have we learned in the second month........

No one will ever know what it is to be a parent until they become one. There’s so much Melissa and I did not understand up until now. An example would be the day Giana got her shots. Her instant reaction to the needle sent pain racing through her butt, but more through our hearts. Melissa and I would have gladly taken the shot for her if we could. But think of the extreme! Think of the day you came home with a broken leg, or became sick to the point you were hospitalized. Can you imagine how your parents must have felt (I am speaking in general… I understand not everyone has the best of parents!). In a perfect world, a parent’s love is indescribable. It is a love that is beyond comprehension. It’s a love that you never fully understood or knew existed. But it does, and it’s scary because you don’t want anything to hurt or disrupt that love. You guard your love with your life and pour it into the things that mean most like family, quality friends, and God.

I pray that each of you take a moment to acknowledge your parents (if you can) and those who mean the most in your life. There is no greater gift than Love!

1 Corinthians 13:4

Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy.
Love doesn't brag, is not proud,
Love doesn't behave itself inappropriately,
Love doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;
Love doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.

'til next month!
